The operation of all seven Larnaca green points has been suspended amid foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks in Livadia and Oroklini, authorities confirmed. The temporary closure aims to limit the spread of the virus in livestock areas.
Public advised to cooperate
Angelos Chatzicharalambous, President of the Larnaca District Local Government Organisation (EOA), stated that the public will be informed about the reopening schedule based on developments next week. He urged citizens to understand the inconvenience caused by the temporary suspension.
Coordination with local authorities
The EOA will work with municipalities and veterinary services to monitor the situation and provide further guidance on reopening the green points. The seven affected sites include Aradippou, Dromolaxia, Troullous, Athienou, Kofinou, Pyrga, and Anafotia.
The green point in Larnaca city itself is operated by the local municipality and is not part of the EOA network.
