Larnaca: Five face court over involvement in criminal organisation

Date:

The Larnaca District Court will announce its decision today on a police request to remand five suspects in custody for eight days, as part of an investigation into participation in a criminal organisation and a series of serious offences.

Police arrested the suspects last Thursday during an extensive operation carried out in Larnaca.

Five suspects arrested in large-scale operation

The five men, aged 42, 31, 22 and two aged 29, were taken into custody following coordinated police actions across the district.

Authorities are investigating multiple offences against them, including participation in a criminal organisation, conspiracy to commit a felony, extortion through threats, and money laundering.

Alleged offences span two years

According to police, the offences under investigation allegedly took place between 2023 and 2025, within the boundaries of Larnaca district.

During the course of the investigation, officers secured testimony which, according to the authorities, appears to link the arrested individuals to the alleged illegal activities.
