Korantina Homes, a group firmly committed to the principles of social responsibility and deeply aware of the value of Cyprus’ cultural heritage, has announced its active support for the Akamas Municipality’s initiative to build an Archaeological Museum in the area of Agios Georgios in Pegeia, an area of significant historical and archaeological importance.
The decision to sponsor the project with a donation of €1,500,000, which will fully fund the construction, forms part of the Korantina Homes’ broader social strategy to strengthen Paphos’ cultural infrastructure. It also reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to preserving historical memory and promoting the unique identity of the region.
The intent to establish the Museum was presented during a scientific event organized by the Akamas Municipality, titled “The Antiquities of Cape Drepanon: Early Christian Basilicas, Baptistery and Necropolis,” which took place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort. Keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Charalambos Bakirtzis, a distinguished archaeologist and Director of the Greek Archaeological Mission to Agios Georgios Pegeias.
Korantina Homes expresses its sincere appreciation to all the scientific and local institutions involved in the ongoing effort to highlight the history and cultural legacy of the region. After all, the prosperity of a place relies not only on development projects, but also on the preservation of its historical and cultural continuity.
Through this initiative, Korantina Homes aims to contribute to the creation of a project of timeless value, one that will serve as a cultural beacon for generations to come, for Akamas, Paphos, and the whole of Cyprus.
