Initially, the weather forecast for Cyprus will be mainly clear on Wednesday, with temporarily increased cloud mainly along the western coast.
Showers and thunderstorms possible
Locally increased cloud in the afternoon is expected to bring isolated showers or a brief thunderstorm, mainly in mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island.
Winds will initially be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly and light at 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Winds may reach 4 to 5 Beaufort locally along the southern coast in the afternoon.
The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures will reach around 34C inland, 30C on the west coast, 32C in the remaining coastal areas and 24C in the highest mountains.
Clearer skies overnight
Tonight, skies will gradually become mainly clear, although increased cloud will appear mainly over the west and north.
Winds will be mainly westerly to northwesterly, light and occasionally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will remain slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to around 19C inland, 21C on the coast and 14C in the highest mountains.
More isolated showers on Thursday
On Thursday, locally increased cloud after midday is expected to bring isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and eastern half of the island.
Friday will be mainly clear, while Saturday will see increased high cloud.
Temperatures will gradually fall slightly, remaining close to the average climatic values.
