Tehran rejects missile claims
Iran’s armed forces did not target Cyprus, Turkey or Azerbaijan, a spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Monday, rejecting recent reports and calling them provocations. The Iranian statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East and conflicting claims about missile launches in the region.
Tehran rejects accusations
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Iran had not carried out any strikes against Turkey, Azerbaijan or Cyprus, describing the reports as false flag attacks intended to escalate the situation.
According to Iranian media, the position reflects Tehran’s claim that it has no intention of opening new fronts against neighbouring countries.
Defence and retaliation warning
Baghaei said discussions about a ceasefire are premature while attacks against Iran continue, stressing that the country will maintain its defensive operations.
“There is no reason to talk about anything other than defence and crushing retaliation against enemies,” he said, according to the Iranian Student News Network.
No war with neighbours
The spokesperson added that Iran does not seek conflict with Muslim neighbouring states, but warned that it will continue to target facilities used by those carrying out attacks against the country.
The Iran denies attacks statement follows reports of missile incidents near Turkey and heightened security alerts across the region.
