Concern is growing over a recent increase in LPG cylinder thefts across various areas of Nicosia, according to a post by the Nicosia Observers.
The perpetrators appear to mainly target cylinders left exposed in yards, shared spaces of apartment buildings, and poorly secured areas of residential properties.
The thefts are reported to occur בעיקר during nighttime hours, taking advantage of limited surveillance and inadequate security measures. The trend is on the rise, putting both authorities and residents on alert.
The Nicosia Observers are urging the public to take preventive measures to protect their property. Specifically, residents are advised to avoid placing LPG cylinders in visible or shared areas and to secure them with chains or metal fixtures.
They also stress the importance of properly securing gates and entrances, as well as regularly checking outdoor areas, especially at night.
Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation between neighbors to help identify suspicious activity early and prevent theft incidents.
Citizens are urged to contact Police immediately at 1460 if they notice suspicious activity or become victims of theft.
