IDF releases video of ground operation in Gaza City

Date:

The IDF ground operation in Gaza City intensified late Monday, with the Israeli military releasing video footage showing troops moving into the city as part of its latest offensive against Hamas.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), soldiers from the elite 98th Division entered Gaza City overnight, supported by the Israeli Air Force and Navy. The operation reportedly targeted dozens of Hamas positions, including observation posts and booby-trapped buildings.

The 98th Division, a formation of paratroopers and special forces, linked up with the 162nd Division, which had already been operating on the outskirts of the city. The IDF also confirmed that a third formation, the 36th Division, is expected to join the operation in the coming days.

On Tuesday, the IDF officially confirmed the start of a large-scale ground assault in Gaza City. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also announced the campaign, declaring that Israel had “begun an intensive operation in Gaza City.”
