Green Line trade week engages both communities

Date:

The Green Line Trade Week officially concluded on Friday with an event at Garage Deryneia/Derinya. Supported by the European Union, the week-long initiative aimed to promote greater engagement with Green Line trade and encourage wider participation from entrepreneurs across both communities.

The Green Line Trade Week was initiated by EU Infopoint and the EU One Stop Shop initiative.

According to the organiser, the event witnessed attendance from both the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities, “providing a unique platform for entrepreneurs to explore the benefits of Green Line trade and establish new business connections.”

The closing event, entitled “Trade Opportunities Meeting and Closing Reception”, allowed businesses to get acquainted with the services of the EU One Stop Shop as well as receive information regarding the 2025 Stelios Bicommunal Business Cooperation Awards.

Throughout the week, a range of events provided a platform for businesses, members of economic and trade chambers, and other stakeholders to connect, explore new trade opportunities and discuss collaboration strategies.

It is further noted that these events also underscored “the European Union’s ongoing commitment to supporting Green Line trade, highlighting both past and future EU-backed initiatives, with a focus on reinforcing the Green Line Regulation as a framework for cooperation and economic prosperity across the island.”
