Rotations of jets and warships

Greek forces stationed in Cyprus due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East will remain on the island for as long as necessary. Four F-16 jets that had arrived from Souda three weeks ago have been replaced by F-16s from Araxos and Larisa air bases.

Additionally, Greek frigates “Kimon” and “Psara” are expected to be replaced by other warships from Greece in the coming week, ensuring continued operational presence.

Athens confirms ongoing support

The Greek government has made clear that its forces will remain in Cyprus as long as the situation requires. Greek Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, reiterated Athens’ commitment to maintaining military readiness on the island.
