The left lane of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway near Moni, in the direction of Limassol, has been temporarily closed following a road accident shortly before 11:00 a.m.
Traffic is currently being diverted through the right lane.
Police officers are at the scene providing assistance and regulating traffic. The vehicle involved in the accident has been moved off the road, but the left lane remains closed to allow crews to clean the road surface.
Members of the Fire Service were also called to the scene to provide assistance.
Police are urging motorists travelling through the area to exercise caution, drive at a safe and reduced speed and maintain an adequate distance from vehicles ahead.
Two people who were travelling in the vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution to undergo medical examinations.
