Government rejects video authenticity, claims of “hybrid attack”

Date:

Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis issued a statement rejecting the authenticity of a video leaked on platform X featuring alleged investors.

The video, leaked from an X account, has raised questions about cash management ahead of the 2028 pre-election campaign and access to the Presidential environment for investment interest.

Full statement from spokesman

“Over the last few hours, a video has circulated which, based on the initial assessment by the competent state service, is characterized as malicious and a product of montage.

This video seeks to damage the image of the Government and the country through false, misleading claims and arbitrary conclusions.

Further investigation and evidence already gathered by the competent Service indicate a case of hybrid activity against the Republic of Cyprus. The Attorney General and the Police Chief have been informed.”
