Goats on Nicosia highway cause traffic disruption

Date:

Morning traffic on the Nicosia–Kokkinotrimithia highway was disrupted on Thursday when two goats strayed onto the road.

The incident occurred around 09:00, in the direction towards Nicosia, where the animals entered the motorway near the Kokkinotrimithia area. Police officers were dispatched to the scene and managed to confine the goats to a safe spot off the highway.

Authorities carried out checks along the motorway to ensure no other animals had wandered into the traffic zone. The police stressed that although the goats on Nicosia highway were quickly contained, drivers should remain alert.

Motorists travelling through the area are urged to reduce speed, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, and follow police instructions to ensure safety.
