Giannis Antetokounmpo gave everything on the court and broke down with emotion after winning the bronze medal with Greece at EuroBasket 2025.
Following Greece’s victory over Finland, the “Greek Freak” could not hold back his feelings once the final buzzer sounded. Draped in the Greek flag, Antetokounmpo retreated to a corner of the arena, where he cried alongside his brothers as the reality of the achievement sank in.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo stood by his side, comforting him with the words, “for him, for him,” a heartfelt reference to their late father, Charles, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 53.
The bronze medal marks a historic moment for Greek basketball, with Giannis Antetokounmpo at the heart of the triumph, his tears underscoring just how much it meant for both family and country.
