Gaza aid boat Vivy Sabre remains in Paphos harbour

The Gaza aid boat Vivy Sabre remains anchored at the harbour in Kato Paphos on Thursday morning as crew members await instructions regarding its departure.

The Vivy Sabre took part in the international Global Sumud mission aimed at delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza. The boat arrived at Paphos harbour shortly after midnight on Monday.

Its crew had departed from a port in Sicily and had previously travelled to Marmaris on the Turkish coast.

Three crew members have departed

According to CNA sources, three members of the crew involved in the humanitarian mission have since left Cyprus.

Two of the three Italian nationals aboard the boat returned to Italy by air on Tuesday evening, while the third travelled to Limassol.

The remaining crew members currently on board include one Spanish national, one Moroccan and one Mexican, who are awaiting further instructions concerning the boat’s departure.

Meanwhile, several party delegations visited the Vivy Sabre in Paphos, delivering food and water supplies to those on board.

The delegations also expressed solidarity with the humanitarian mission and the Palestinian people.
