Fidias Panayiotou apology over controversial remarks

MEP Fidias Panayiotou has issued a public apology regarding his remarks in a video that referred to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

In his statement, Panayiotou acknowledged that he should not have referred to any person with a disability, disorder, or illness as “crazy”.

He also addressed S14 category Paralympic athletes, saying: “I want to offer a sincere apology to the athletes of the S14 category at the Paralympic Games.”
