F16 flypast interrupts parade announcer

Date:

A dramatic moment at yesterday’s parade came when the booming sound of the F16 flypast interrupted the announcer mid-sentence, leaving the crowd in awe.

The roar of the Greek fighter jets swept over the semi-occupied capital during the parade, causing the audience to look skyward as the aircraft performed their flyovers.

The announcer, Navy Sub-Lieutenant Laura Papakonstantinou, was forced to pause her commentary as the jets thundered overhead, with the powerful sound carrying across the parade ground.

The F16 Vipers, sent from Greece, drew enthusiastic applause from those present and added to the sense of pride and emotion at the event.
