The smart meters rollout continues throughout June across all districts, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has announced.
The programme forms part of a wider effort to modernise the electricity network and improve energy management and efficiency.
Areas affected in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca
In Nicosia, smart meters are being installed in the Strovolos industrial area, residential zones west of GSP Stadium up to Alexandroupoleos Street, and along sections of Iosif Hadjiosif Avenue up to Athalassa Avenue.
Additional installations are taking place along Stavrou and Athinon Avenues, as well as in the community of Lythrodontas.
In Limassol, the rollout covers areas between the Limassol–Nicosia motorway and the Amathountos and Vasileos Georgiou I avenues, extending up to Christaki Kranou Street.
In Larnaca, installations are underway in areas between Griva Digeni, Artemidos, Faneromenis and Thessalonikis avenues, as well as in Livadia.
Additional installations in Livadia and Famagusta
Further work is taking place in Livadia, including the town centre and areas around Alexandrou Panagouli, Kyriakou Matsi and Grigori Afxentiou avenues.
In Famagusta, installations are focused in Paralimni, covering several streets including Sotiras, Agiou Nektariou and Asklipiou, as well as sections of 1st of April Avenue and surrounding roads towards Deryneia.
Brief power interruptions expected
The EAC said that for the safe replacement of electricity meters, power cuts will be required, although they are not expected to exceed 20 minutes.
The authority apologised for any inconvenience caused and urged residents to cooperate with technicians during the smart meters installation programme.
