The Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol has issued a confiscation order for assets worth a total of €164,585 as part of the sentencing process in a drug trafficking case.
The order follows a police investigation launched after authorities seized more than five kilograms of cocaine and over 12 kilograms of cannabis in November 2024.
Four people prosecuted
Following the investigation by the Cyprus Police Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), criminal proceedings were brought against four individuals.
The accused include two 52-year-old men, a 35-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman.
Financial investigation led to asset seizure
As part of the investigation, YKAN worked with the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS) to carry out a financial inquiry into the defendants.
The investigation resulted in the freezing of various assets, including cash and vehicles.
Confiscation order issued
During proceedings before the Permanent Criminal Court of Limassol, the court ordered the confiscation of assets worth €164,585.
The order includes the confiscation of assets belonging to the 35-year-old defendant valued at €144,585, as well as assets worth €20,000 belonging to the 34-year-old woman.
