E-scooter accident in Limassol injures toddler

An e-scooter rider hit a 43-year-old woman and her one-year-old child yesterday afternoon in Limassol, seriously injuring the toddler.

At around 3.20 pm on Monday, 8 December, the woman carried her child, aged one year and four months, across a pedestrian crossing on the cycle path along 28th October Street. An e-scooter travelling on the same cycle path struck them under circumstances police are still investigating.

Toddler suffers serious head injury

The impact threw the mother and child to the ground. The toddler sustained a serious head injury. Paramedics first took the child to a private clinic in Limassol, then transferred the infant to Makarios III Hospital in Strovolos, Nicosia. Doctors describe the child’s condition as serious but stable.

Rider flees after collision

The e-scooter rider left the scene immediately. Police are working to identify and locate the individual.

Limassol Traffic Police continue their investigations.
