Dust and strong winds are on the cards today, with increased cloud and afternoon gusts expected across several regions.
Today’s weather
A high-pressure system is affecting the area, and light dust will be suspended in the atmosphere at intervals.
The weather will be mostly clear, with high cloud increasing through the day. Winds will be mainly north-easterly to south-easterly, and in the west during the afternoon south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort, and briefly moderate to strong at 4–5 Beaufort along the northern, eastern, and southern coasts.
The sea will be slightly rough in the west, and slightly rough to locally rough elsewhere.
Temperatures will reach around 25°C inland, around 26°C on the coasts, and around 15°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight
The weather will remain mostly clear with increased high cloud. Winds will gradually shift to north-westerly to north-easterly, and south-easterly in the north, light and occasionally moderate at 3–4 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough in the west, and slightly rough on other coasts.
Temperatures will drop to around 11°C inland, around 15°C on the coasts, and around 8°C in the higher mountains.
Outlook: Thursday to Saturday
Thursday will be mostly clear.
Friday and Saturday will remain largely sunny with periods of increased high cloud.
Temperatures will continue to rise steadily through Saturday, sitting well above the seasonal average.
