A traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Limassol, resulting in the injury of a pedestrian.
According to the police, under circumstances currently being investigated, a 63-year-old driver struck and injured a 28-year-old foreign woman who was attempting to cross at a traffic-controlled pedestrian crossing.
The 63-year-old fled the scene after the accident but was located shortly afterward at his residence in Limassol.
He underwent a breathalyzer test, showing a reading of 41 mg instead of the legal limit of 22 mg. He is expected to be formally charged in writing today and summoned to appear before the Court at a later date.
The 28-year-old woman’s condition is reported to be out of danger.
