Debate over licence suspension for new drivers and alcohol use

The discussion has begun on a proposed law that would suspend licences for new drivers who test positive for alcohol.

The proposal, submitted by DIKO MP Chrysanthos Savvides, stipulates zero alcohol consumption for drivers with less than three years of experience.

As stated on the programme Protoselido, this proposal aims to contribute to ongoing efforts to reduce fatal accidents.
