Partly cloudy conditions across the island
The Cyprus weather forecast indicates partly cloudy skies at intervals today, as weak high pressure continues to affect the region.
According to the Department of Meteorology, winds will blow from the northeast to southeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures are expected to reach around 20°C inland and along the coast, while higher mountainous areas will see highs of approximately 11°C.
Noticeable temperature drop overnight
Tonight, conditions will turn mostly clear. Winds will remain mainly northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, with the sea remaining slight to slightly rough.
A noticeable temperature drop is expected overnight. Inland areas will fall to around 7°C, coastal regions to approximately 11°C, and higher mountainous areas to 3°C. Localised frost is expected to form in the highest peaks.
Isolated showers over the weekend
Looking ahead, the Cyprus weather forecast shows partly cloudy conditions through the weekend and into Monday. Isolated showers are expected during the afternoon hours.
Temperatures will record a slight rise on Saturday, climbing above average climatic values. From Sunday onwards, a gradual decrease is anticipated, bringing temperatures back closer to seasonal norms.
At the time of the bulletin’s release, snow depth at Chionistra measured 4 centimetres.
