Dust and warm conditions continue
Clear weather is expected over the coming days with periods of increased cloud cover, while isolated rain and very strong coastal winds are possible on Friday.
According to the latest weather bulletin, weak low pressure is affecting the region, while dust will at times remain suspended in the atmosphere.
Today, the weather will be mostly clear, although increased medium and high clouds will initially be observed. Winds will blow mainly from the southeast to southwest, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, later becoming locally strong at 5 Beaufort.
Temperatures are expected to rise to 33°C inland, around 28°C on the southern and eastern coasts, and around 25°C on the western and northern coasts as well as in the higher mountains.
Low cloud and fog expected overnight
Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear. Gradually, localised low cloud and light fog are expected to form, mainly over the eastern half of the island.
Winds will blow mainly northwesterly, weak and at times locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slight.
Temperatures will drop to around 14°C inland and along the coasts, and to around 12°C in the higher mountainous areas.
Weather change expected by Friday
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will remain mostly clear with periods of increased medium and high clouds.
By Friday, increased cloud cover is expected and isolated showers cannot be ruled out, while winds are forecast to become very strong, mainly in coastal areas.
Temperatures are expected to gradually fall through Friday, returning closer to average seasonal values.
