The new cycle of Cyprus army conscripts officially begins today, marking the start of this year’s summer enlistment period. Thousands of young men are expected to report to their assigned centres across the island as part of the 2025 ESSO.
Enlistment will take place from Monday 7 July to Friday 11 July at KEN Larnaca, KEN Limassol, and the Chrysanthos Samaras Camp in Athalassa (4th Infantry Training Battalion). On 10 and 11 July, registration will also be held at KEN Paphos.
The Cyprus army conscripts will take their oath on 25 July 2025, marking their formal induction into mandatory national service.
Military service is compulsory in Cyprus for all Greek Cypriot men after completing secondary education. Conscription typically includes basic training followed by service in infantry or support roles within the National Guard.
Though the process is routine, the start of enlistment remains a significant milestone for thousands of young men and their families alike.
