Cypriot artist honoured by France for artistic contribution

Date:

The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts has congratulated artist Theodoulos Gregoriou on being awarded the prestigious Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Republic.

The Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) is a French distinction awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves through their creativity in the field of arts, culture, and literature, or for their contribution to the influence of the arts in France and throughout the world.

In a statement, the Academy praised this latest honour as recognition of Gregoriou’s creativity, lifelong artistic journey, and the international reach of his work.

A corresponding member of the Academy’s Arts and Letters section since 2020, Gregoriou has created major public artworks in Cyprus, France, and Greece. His work has been widely exhibited and is held in European museums, at UNESCO’s Paris headquarters, and in private and public collections.
