Court suspends extension of Anna Aristotelous’ suspension

Date:

Anna Aristotelous is no longer on administrative leave and may return to work following a ruling by the Administrative Court on Wednesday, which suspended the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) decision to extend her suspension for another two months.

According to a statement issued by the law firm Christos M. Triantafyllides LLC, which represents Ms Aristotelous, the Court suspended the PSC decision “on the grounds of manifest illegality.”

The case has been set before the Court for 20 October 2025 for further procedural steps.

Initial suspension and appeal

The PSC had decided on 3 October, the date her initial three-month suspension expired, to extend it for two more months.

The initial suspension decision had already been challenged before the Administrative Court, with that appeal still pending.

On 8 October, Ms Aristotelous filed a new appeal against the PSC’s latest decision, while also requesting a separate interim order from the Court to suspend the two-month extension.

Court grants interim order

The Court reviewed the material submitted by her legal team and granted the request, issuing an order to suspend the PSC’s decision.

According to the ruling, published on Thursday, the Court issues “a temporary order suspending the execution and/or implementation of the decision of the respondent dated 03/10/2025,” referring to the Public Service Commission.
