Courage to Express Your Voice: A practical workshop

Date:

Speak your truth in a trauma-informed space

The “Courage to Express Your Voice” Workshop offers a gentle, 2-hour, practical, experiential session for LGBTQI+ individuals and allies to explore self-expression, courage, and inner safety. Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace without pressure to “be confident” or push past fear.

Understanding fear and self-expression

The workshop explores how fear around visibility, coming out, and authenticity is not a personal failure but a nervous system response shaped by lived experience. Through reflective dialogue, simple science, and body-based tools, participants will learn to work with fear instead of against it.

What participants will experience

  • A clear, accessible understanding of how fear and the nervous system work
  • Insight into why self-expression can feel so vulnerable, especially in queer lives
  • Gentle somatic grounding practices to create safety in the body
  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) tapping to release emotional tension
  • Supportive, inclusive group dialogue (sharing always optional)
  • Practical tools you can use in real moments of vulnerability or truth-telling

Workshop outcomes

Participants will leave with:

  • Increased awareness of what holds them back from expressing themselves
  • Greater emotional regulation and inner steadiness
  • A felt sense of courage, not forced confidence
  • Permission to take up space authentically and at their own pace
