Confirmed case of monkeypox in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health has been mobilised following the detection of a confirmed case of monkeypox in Cyprus, marking the first case for 2024.

Following the identification of the case, the relevant protocol has been activated.

According to reports, the patient is a Greek Cypriot national currently hospitalised at the Nicosia General Hospital. The same information indicates that the patient’s health condition is stable.

The Ministry of Health has initiated investigations into the patient’s medical history. It is noted that this is not the first confirmed case of monkeypox in Cyprus.
