Bridget looks for love again in new film “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy”

Bridget is back! In the first trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, she continues her quest for love as she grapples with the loss of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), who died on a humanitarian mission in Sudan.

Double Oscar-winner Renée Zellweger reprises her role as the beloved character, joined by Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Leo Woodall.

The film is based on Helen Fielding’s third book in the Bridget Jones series, with a screenplay co-written by Fielding, Abi Morgan, and Dan Mazer. Directed by Michael Morris, this latest chapter follows Bridget as the mother of 9-year-old Billy and 4-year-old Mabel, promising love’s return amidst two new suitors.

Returning cast members include Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones, Sally Phillips, James Callis, Shirley Henderson, and Sarah Solemani.

The new actors joining the cast are Leila Farzad, Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, and Nico Parker.

Mad About the Boy marks the fourth film in the franchise following Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason three years later, and Bridget Jones’s Baby in 2016, with the series amassing over $760 million worldwide.

According to Variety, the film’s premiere is set for February 13, 2025.
