The report, carried by the official IRNA via Telegram, stated that the body was moved to the Imam Khomeini Musalla in the Iranian capital.
Claims of death remain unverified in report context
According to the same reporting, Khamenei is said to have been killed during the early hours of alleged US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran on 28 February.
However, these claims have not been independently verified in the available information, and no additional confirmation has been provided by international authorities.
Venue prepared for ceremony
The report said the funeral is expected to take place at the large Imam Khomeini Musalla in central Tehran, a site traditionally used for major state and religious ceremonies.
Tehran remains the focal point of official mourning arrangements as described by state media.
Context of heightened regional tensions
The reporting comes amid heightened regional tensions following previous military escalations involving Iran and international actors.
Authorities have not released further official confirmation regarding the circumstances surrounding the reported death or the timing of the funeral proceedings.
