A 19-year-old woman was arrested in an Ayia Napa incident on Sunday night after allegedly verbally abusing police officers and resisting arrest.
According to police, members of the Famagusta Police Directorate were carrying out traffic arrangements in Ayia Napa at around 10:50pm when the woman approached them.
Police said she began shouting and verbally abusing the officers.
Woman allegedly resisted arrest
Officers proceeded to arrest the woman for offences allegedly committed in the presence of police.
During the arrest, she allegedly resisted, resulting in additional allegations of assaulting a police officer and resisting lawful arrest.
The woman was subsequently taken to Ayia Napa Police Station.
She was formally charged in writing with the offences and was released pending a future court appearance.
