The ‘Athens Open Air Film Festival powered by DEI’, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, will begin on June 16 with a grand opening featuring the screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation” in the forecourt of the Zappion building at 21:30.

The film, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made, was first released in 1974 and won the Palme D’Or at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival. The screening will use the digitally remastered copy produced for the 50th anniversary since the film’s release.
The Athens Open Air Film Festival will once again offer free and high-quality cinema experiences in some of the best locations in the city, from June until August. The Festival is dedicating its opening night to Gene Hackman, whose role in ‘The Conversation’ is widely seen as one of his best and most insightful performances.
The Public Power Corporation (DEI) is continuing to collaborate with the Athens Open Air Film Festival for the second consecutive year. The festival poster was designed by Vasilis Mexis.
