Apollonion Private Hospital has confirmed that the patient at the centre of recent reports underwent successful surgery, while also taking aim at OKYPY over what it described as inaccurate public statements concerning the case.
According to the hospital, the patient’s condition is stable. However, her recovery is expected to be lengthy due to her complicated medical history, comorbidities and an infection caused by a multidrug-resistant microorganism. At the same time, Apollonion called on OKYPY’s management to fully investigate the circumstances and take appropriate action regarding statements made by one of its representatives, stressing that the management of complex cases requires responsibility and meaningful cooperation among all healthcare providers.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Following recent reports, Apollonion Private Hospital announces that the patient successfully underwent surgery today, performed by a specialised medical team at the hospital. Her condition remains stable. However, due to her complicated medical history, comorbidities and the multidrug-resistant microorganism that has caused an infection, a significant recovery period is expected to be required.
At the same time, Apollonion Private Hospital expects OKYPY’s management to conduct a full investigation into the circumstances and take the appropriate action regarding the inaccurate public statements made by its representative, which do not reflect the actual facts of the case.
The effective management of complex and specialised cases requires responsibility, preparedness and meaningful cooperation among all healthcare providers. In such cases, everyone involved must be present and available, with the safety and best interests of the patient as their sole priority.
Apollonion Private Hospital and Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG) will continue to make every possible effort to ensure the safe and effective management of complex cases requiring a high degree of specialisation. At the same time, they will continue to cooperate with all healthcare providers whenever and wherever necessary, always with the aim of providing patients with the best possible care.
