Cyprus Police recorded 608 traffic offences involving users of personal mobility devices, including e-scooters, and cyclists during a nationwide enforcement campaign held from 19 to 25 October 2026.
Of the 608 offences reported, 534 involved personal mobility device users, while 74 involved cyclists.
The Cyprus e-scooter violations were recorded as part of a week-long awareness and enforcement initiative aimed at promoting safer road use and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
Most offences involved e-scooter users
Police issued 168 reports for failure to wear a protective helmet, including 133 involving personal mobility device users and 35 involving cyclists.
A further 120 offences concerned personal mobility device users who failed to wear a high-visibility vest.
The largest single category involved the use of personal mobility devices in areas of the road network where they are prohibited, with 230 offences recorded.
Police also reported 33 cases of cyclists riding without an illuminated bicycle light.
The specified categories account for 551 of the 608 offences. Police did not provide a breakdown of the remaining 57.
Police to continue nationwide road checks
Police said traffic checks would continue daily, around the clock, across Cyprus’s road network.
The authorities stressed that the campaign aims to strengthen road safety awareness and encourage responsible behaviour among all road users.
Officers will continue monitoring Cyprus e-scooter violations and other traffic offences as part of wider efforts to prevent road collisions and improve safety nationwide.
