A family tragedy unfolded on the morning of Tuesday, 17 December, in a village in Kymi, Evia.
According to reports, two siblings—a 22-year-old man and his 26-year-old sister—along with her 29-year-old husband, killed their father in their home in the village of Andronianoi, in the Dendra area.
Initially, they attempted to make it appear as though they were not involved in the man’s death. However, after hours of interrogation, they confessed to the crime.
The incident
On Tuesday, the son called the police and alleged that his father had assaulted him, causing physical harm, and had attempted to sexually assault him. When officers arrived at the family home, the son claimed he did not know where his father was.
Shortly after, police found the father dead, lying naked at the bottom of an internal staircase leading from the ground floor to the basement, face down. Approximately two metres from his body, they discovered a clean knife.
The confession
The perpetrators later admitted to suffocating their father while he slept in his bed by placing a pillow over his face. They then attempted to cover up the crime.
They removed his clothing, placed a knife in his hand, and moved his body to the basement stairs where it was eventually found by police.
The perpetrators also burned the evidence, including the pillow, fabrics, and clothing, in an outdoor area of the house. Parts of the burned materials were recovered and confiscated by police.
Additionally, officers found two kitchen knives and a magazine with homosexual content placed between two mattresses where the victim had been sleeping, as well as €12,000 in cash.
