Residence permit renewals in Cyprus will have to be submitted exclusively online from January 1, the Deputy Ministry of Migration announced on Wednesday.
The change will affect several categories of temporary residence permits, as well as permanent residence permits, as part of the government’s wider digital transformation programme.
Which residence permits are affected?
The online-only procedure will apply to renewals of temporary residence permits for:
- Employees who remain with the same company where they worked when their initial permit was issued.
- Domestic workers.
- Employees of foreign interest companies.
- People holding permits under the family reunification category.
Renewals of permanent residence permits will also be submitted exclusively online from January 1.
How to apply for a renewal
Applicants will need to create a CY Login account and submit their residence permit renewal application through the government’s official website, gov.cy.
The Deputy Ministry of Migration said the changes form part of efforts to modernise government services and improve the quality and speed of services provided to the public and businesses.’
