The weather in most areas of Cyprus will be mainly clear today, with temporarily increased cloud cover. Clouds developing in the mountains after midday may bring isolated showers.
A weak area of high pressure is temporarily beginning to affect the region.
Temperatures and winds
Winds will be mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, while on the southwestern and western coasts they will be southwesterly to northwesterly. They will be generally light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 28°C inland and along the coast, while reaching around 19°C in the highest mountains.
Tonight
Tonight will remain mainly clear, although increased low cloud will develop locally along the coast.
Winds will remain mainly northwesterly to northeasterly and light at 3 Beaufort, occasionally reaching moderate levels of 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The sea will remain generally calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to around 16°C inland, 18°C along the coast and 9°C in the highest mountains.
Weather outlook
On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mainly clear, although increased local cloud will occur at times.
On Sunday, increased local cloud will occur at intervals, with isolated light showers possible.
Temperatures will gradually rise through Saturday, reaching levels close to or slightly above the seasonal climate averages.
