Relentless Israeli airstrikes target military facilities in Tartus

Date:

Intense Israeli airstrikes targeted military facilities in the coastal region of Tartus, Syria, during the night of Sunday to Monday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

“Israeli fighter jets launched strikes” on various facilities, including specific air defence units and “ground-to-ground missile depots,” reported the UK-based non-governmental organisation, which relies on a wide network of sources within Syria.

The organisation described the strikes as the “heaviest bombardment since 2012” in the coastal region of Tartus, which is home to a strategically significant Russian naval base.
