A 30-year-old man is in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital after being injured in an explosion in the Sotira area on Friday night.
According to information currently under investigation, police received a report of an explosion in Sotira at around 9:20 p.m. Officers attended the scene, where they found the 30-year-old injured outside a metal storage facility and garage.
The injured man was initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was subsequently transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police officers examined the scene as part of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
Speaking about the case, Famagusta Police Directorate spokesperson Andreas Constantinou said that all possible scenarios regarding the explosion are being investigated, while inquiries remain ongoing.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.
