Finikoudes: Ambulance delayed in emergency due to barrier

Date:

An ambulance had to wait for more than three minutes on the evening of Friday, September 11, for a barrier leading to the Finikoudes seafront in Larnaca to be opened so that it could respond to an emergency.

The incident was captured in a video posted on social media, showing the ambulance stopped in front of the barrier while waiting to gain access to the seafront.

SigmaLive contacted Ambulance Service Director Riana Constantinou, who confirmed that the service is aware of the incident.

She said the ambulance was responding to an emergency within the seafront area. Fortunately, according to Constantinou, the delay in gaining access did not have any impact on the patient’s condition.
