The arrests of two Brazilian women, aged 25 and 26, were carried out in the early hours of Thursday after police allegedly found that a flat in Larnaca had been converted into a brothel.
The women were also arrested in connection with an alleged theft involving €6,700.
Police called to apartment
The case came to light after Larnaca Police received information at around 2am about a person shouting outside an apartment.
Officers went to the scene and found a 23-year-old man outside the flat. When questioned, he allegedly told police that he had had sex with the 25-year-old woman in exchange for €150.
He also alleged that, when he was leaving the apartment, he discovered that €6,700 he had with him was missing.

CID Larnaca officers searched the apartment and found the money behind a bedside table.
Police subsequently arrested the 25-year-old and the 26-year-old, who are reported to have been staying at the apartment since July.
According to information, the complainant allegedly said he had found the 25-year-old through a dating website.
Eight-day detention
The two women are suspected of offences including theft, handling stolen property, conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanour, as well as an offence relating to the operation of a brothel.
The arrests were followed by the suspects appearing before the Larnaca District Court, which ordered their detention for eight days.
