A helicopter crashed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday, killing all four people on board.
According to Brazilian news outlet G1, the victims were the pilot and three female tourists from Colombia – a 59-year-old woman, her 37-year-old daughter and her 17-year-old granddaughter.
The helicopter crashed under circumstances that remain unclear in Tijuca National Park, on a densely vegetated mountainside.
Firefighters said the four occupants were found “charred” and released images showing the helicopter in flames in a difficult-to-access area.
The latest incident comes after six people were killed in a collision involving two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro in June.
Following Saturday’s crash, Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes said he had asked Brazil’s civil aviation authorities to take immediate action to ensure the safety of helicopter flights, which have become increasingly common in the popular tourist destination.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
