Seven people have been “arrested” in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 40-year-old man in occupied Kyrenia during the early hours of Thursday.
According to the Turkish Cypriot online press, the incident occurred at around 1:30 am, resulting in the death of the 40-year-old man.
As part of the investigation, the “police” in the occupied areas arrested seven men aged between 28 and 37.
One of the suspects, aged 37, was reportedly injured during the incident and remains under medical observation.
Woman remains in critical condition
In a separate case, a suspect “arrested” over the stabbing of a young woman at a supermarket in occupied Nicosia on Monday has appeared before a “court”, which ordered his detention for one day.
According to the “police”, the suspect faces allegations of attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm and illegal possession of a knife.
“Authorities” allege that the man had previously been in a relationship with the victim in Turkey and began following her after their separation.
Attack under investigation
Reports state that the suspect arrived in the occupied areas on 30 July and allegedly attacked the woman inside the supermarket on 3 August.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, neck, chest and abdomen, as well as injuries to internal organs.
According to the Turkish Cypriot reports, the woman’s condition remains critical.
