48-year-old arrested after €270,000 theft from elderly man’s home

A 48-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a burglary in Strovolos involving the theft of €270,000 from the home of an elderly man.

According to police, the burglary took place on Thursday, 2 July. The 79-year-old homeowner reported that €270,000 was stolen from his residence.

Police investigation underway

Police officers visited the scene and, during their investigations, found evidence that the home had been broken into.

Authorities later secured an arrest warrant against the 48-year-old woman and arrested her on Tuesday afternoon, 7 July.

The burglary investigation remains ongoing, with police continuing their enquiries.

The arrested woman is expected to appear before a court today, where authorities will request a detention order.
