Two arrested with cocaine and Captagon pills in their possession

Police have arrested two people, aged 29 and 21, in connection with a case involving illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply and money laundering from criminal activities.

The drug arrests in Paphos were carried out on Monday evening by members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU) after officers assessed information they had received.

Drugs and cash found during searches

DLEU officers stopped a vehicle in Kato Paphos in which the two suspects were travelling.

A search found 3 grams of cannabis, 0.5 grams of methamphetamine and €700 in cash in their possession. The two individuals were arrested for offences committed in the presence of police.

A subsequent search of their residence led to the seizure of:

  • 1 gram of cocaine
  • 10 grams of methamphetamine
  • 73 Captagon tablets
  • 197 grams of cannabis
  • €4,250 in cash

Investigation continues

The two suspects are expected to appear before the Paphos District Court on Tuesday for the issuance of a detention order.

The Paphos branch of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit continues its investigation.
