Warm and mostly sunny conditions continue
Cyprus will remain under the influence of seasonal low pressure on Friday, bringing mainly sunny weather and temperatures of up to 37°C inland.
According to the Department of Meteorology, temperatures will reach 37°C inland, 29°C on the west coast, around 32°C along the remaining coastal areas and 28°C in the higher mountains.
Winds will initially be south-easterly to south-westerly at 3 to 4 Beaufort, before becoming mainly south-westerly to north-westerly later in the day, remaining light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally strengthening to 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slight.
Fog expected overnight
Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, although periods of increased low cloud are expected, particularly over western areas.
Later in the night and during the early morning hours, patches of mist or fog and low cloud may develop, mainly in southeastern parts of the island.
Overnight temperatures will fall to around 23°C inland and along the coast, and to 19°C in the higher mountains. The sea will be slight.
Isolated mountain showers possible on Sunday
Friday and Saturday are expected to remain mostly sunny.
On Sunday, however, increased cloud is forecast to develop around midday and in the early afternoon, with a chance of isolated showers, mainly over mountainous areas.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly through Sunday and will remain close to the seasonal average.
