58-year-old hit by vehicle in Orounta, in critical condition

A crash in Orounta village left a 58-year-old man in critical condition after he was struck by a passing vehicle on Tuesday night in the Nicosia district.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 9:15 pm under circumstances that remain under investigation. The 58-year-old was walking along a road in the village of Orounta when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old man.

Police officers attended the scene to carry out examinations, while an ambulance crew transported both men to Nicosia General Hospital.

Victim remains in intensive care

The 69-year-old driver was later discharged from hospital, while the 58-year-old remains in the Intensive Care Unit, where his condition is described as critical.

Police continue investigations

The crash in Orounta remains under investigation by the Peristerona Police Station, which is continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
