Armed with knife and golf club, intruders injure 26-year-old

Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault case in Paphos involving allegations of violent attack, knife possession and threats, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident took place around 9:00 pm on Monday when two suspects allegedly went to the home of a 35-year-old man in the Paphos district, demanding repayment of an alleged debt.

The man was not present at the residence, and a 26-year-old employee was inside the property at the time.

Employee injured in attack

Police said the suspects allegedly attacked the employee using a knife and a golf club before fleeing the scene.

The 26-year-old was taken to Paphos General Hospital, where he was treated for a laceration on his arm and abrasions.

A 39-year-old suspect also visited hospital with a hand injury and was discharged after receiving first aid.

Arrests and ongoing investigation

Both suspects, aged 39 and 42, were later arrested under court warrants in connection with offences including causing bodily harm, carrying an offensive weapon, and threats.

They remain in custody as police continue their investigation into the assault.

The Paphos CID is continuing inquiries.
