A fire broke out in Trachoni on Saturday afternoon.
According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the blaze is burning dry grass and wild vegetation in the Trachoni area of Limassol.
The Fire Service responded with firefighting crews from across Limassol district. Civil Defence teams and organised volunteer groups have also been mobilised.
A fire engine from the British Bases, two excavators and a mobile firefighting unit from the Kourion Municipality are also assisting efforts to contain the blaze.
Preliminary information indicates that the fire may have been caused after a truck came into contact with Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) power lines.
